    Speaker Jim Purdy, JD

    Jim Purdy, JD is an engaging communicator and a leading expert at helping people and organizations achieve success by applying provden leadership principles to improve communication, increase employee engagement, and reaise productivity. Mr. Purdy has taught internationally with hundreds of presentations in courtrooms, classrooms and on stages around the world.

    Mr. Purdy has owned and operated businesses in a variety of fields including practiving law, construction trade contractor for Wal-Mart, food service, and tramploline parks. He designed and built the first inflatable amusement park in the United States. Mr. Purday has taught college courses as a professor of speech and communication, business law, and ethics.

    He draws on his diverse background and experiences to provide keynote sppeches, teach classes and workshops, and provide one-on-one coaching for people in all fields who want to improve their leadership, communication and team building skills.

    Jim used his down time during the panemic to write a novel set in the Florida Keys.

    When he isn't teaching, he enjoys travelling with his wife, Sally-Ann. Australia nad the Florida Keys are their favorite places to visit.

    It is said that people are a company’s greatest asset and essential to achieving business goals and targets. To do this, people need to be able to communicate effectively with each other, with customers, partners and suppliers.  However, effective communication is harder than we think because so many factors come into play that can lead to misunderstanding, conflict and poor customer service.  The “Ten Commandments to Effective Communication will prompt clearer communication to avoid misunderstanding and confusion regardless of the audience, and will improve work relationships.  Participants will learn communication skills that are immediately actionable to increase and improve effectiveness of their communication.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Apply newly learned communication skills and implement an action plan to improve one’s own communication effectiveness.
    • Utilize concepts and techniques to enhance one’s own communication when interacting with all levels of the organization.
    • Apply and train these communication techniques when coaching leaders in order for them to be more effective leading people and the work.
    • Minimize derailers of communication and improve dialog and understanding between leaders and staff, team members and customers.
