"Difficult Conversations That Build Trust Instead of Tension "
Description:
Every leader will eventually face conversations they would rather avoid. Whether addressing performance concerns, navigating workplace conflict, delivering constructive feedback, or leading through organizational change, the quality of these conversations directly impacts trust, engagement, accountability, and organizational culture. While many leaders know what needs to be said, they often struggle with how to manage their emotions before and during the conversation. Emotional reactions such as fear, frustration, defensiveness, or anxiety can unintentionally escalate tension and weaken workplace relationships. This interactive webinar equips HR professionals and people leaders with practical Intelligent Emotional strategies to navigate difficult conversations with confidence, empathy, and clarity. Participants will explore how emotional awareness influences communication, learn techniques to regulate emotional responses, and apply a simple framework that transforms challenging conversations into opportunities to build trust, strengthen relationships, and improve employee engagement. Through real-world workplace examples, self-reflection, and practical tools, attendees will leave prepared to lead conversations that foster accountability while preserving dignity, psychological safety, and organizational trust.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize the emotional triggers that commonly derail difficult workplace conversations.
2. Apply Emotional Intelligence strategies to regulate emotions before and during challenging discussions.
3. Utilize a practical conversation framework to increase trust, accountability, and psychological safety.
4. Demonstrate communication techniques that improve employee engagement, strengthen workplace relationships, and reduce unnecessary conflict.
5. Develop an action plan for leading future difficult conversations with greater confidence and effectiveness.
